2. Home Schools: The home schools are located in the Shah Rasool Kachi Abadi, in the court yard of people’s homes, near Nelum Colony, Phase V, D.H.A. Karachi. These schools operate in 2 flexible hours’ shifts. Most of them operate in the afternoon from 1 to 5 PM, six days a week. This program is available only for girl interns.
3. Administration: This deals with the management & administration of all CEDF’s programs & the annual audit. There are about 14 CEDF Working Committee members, which is its Governing Body. We meet in each other’s homes once a month.This program is open to both boys & girls.
NOTES: 1. Interns will be working in groups 02 to 6. 2. Certificates will be given to interns who have completed at least 16 hours of work. CEDF promotes the education of girls, as education empowers women to break the cycle of poverty and gives them a voice in their future and in their community. It is a great learning experience about the challenges that exist in addressing the education of the forgotten children of the “Kachi Abadies” (unplanned settlements) in Pakistan.
